Lil Nas X posted two identical videos of himself, relishing his 2019 accomplishments and progress.

What We Know:

  • In recent videos posted on January 8, the superstar rapper is in both chowing down on what looks to be pepperoni pizza. In the first video, the rapper says, “Alright, um, what day is it? January the eighth, 2019.”
  • Furthermore, he continues, “Gonna eat some f**king pizza. Just put out ‘Old Town Road’ and…it’s doing pretty fucking good. You know, right now? No matter what, three thousand on Instagram, two thousand on YouTube, not even one thousand followers on Spotify yet.”
  • He ended with, “But…I’ma hit y’all back a year from now and we’ll see where I’m at. Alright.”
  • The next video post begins identical with a box of pizza in hand, but, this time he is wearing milky all-white with a gleaming grill in his mouth. He says, “Alright, um, what day is it? January eighth, 2020. I’m about to eat some f**king pizza. A year ago, I put out ‘Old Town Road’. It did pretty f**king good. I’m at five million on Instagram, eight million on YouTube, around 30 million Spotify listeners. It’s been a year, and I just want to give a big thank you to everybody who’s helped me get to where I am. And I’ll be back with you guys…10 years from now! We’ll see where I’m at.”
  • The young artist has had a busy 2019. On June 30, 2019, Lil Nas X came out as gay in a post on Twitter. The rapper decided to come out on the last day of pride, receiving mixed reactions from fans.
  • Also in 2019, Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus’ “Old Town Road (Remix)” won a CMA Award for Musical Event of the Year. Lil Nas X’s historic achievement, “Old Town Road” became the longest-leading No. 1 single in Hot 100 history, with a prodigious 17 weeks on top.

Lil Nas X is proof that anything is possible.
